corerpg multi-layered images compatibility

I know this has been posted on here before, but it was posted and rejected it seems back in 2012. The explanation given about implementation within CoreRpg may no longer apply and as such might just have fallen off the radar?

This would definitely make life so much easier for me- just having the party riding around on a wagon in Deadlands causes severe map headache!

I keep checking to see if there is any new update to the Trenloe tweaked CoreRPG extension but it still states incompatibility with SW. As multi-layer feature is available within the CoreRPG ruleset I don't understand the technical issues here but although I can fire up SW with the extension activated clearly it still remains incompatible with Savage Worlds for some reason. Is it a really difficult fix? Am I going to have to wait until FGU to gain this functionality??
