Elan Edge

Can we remove the Elan Modifier? Elan adds 2 to the final total, not to the roll you make with a benny. If I needed a raise when I only rolled a 6, then spent a Benny and rolled a 4, I would I chose the 6, then Elan would make it an 8. The Modifier in FG would make the 4 a 6, which is not the correct use of the Edge and is (possibly) confusing for people.

Personally I'd prefer this one the way it is. Sure it might only modify that bennied roll, but I'd rather have it modify ANY roll as a reminder that I've got that +2 floating out there rather than not have it show at all.

If we keep the Elan Modifier because we need a reminder that Elan is a thing, do we need it to add +2 to the roll?
If you remember to drag out the modifier why not just have it say "Hey, you have Elan, don't forget!" when you roll, rather than adding a superfluous +2 to a roll that is counter to the way the edge actually works?

I will have agree to leave this feature as it currently is. I cannot affect die roll results after they are rolled and displayed in chat anyways
